How to measure victory,
and balance it with humble.
How to speak of merit earned
Even when I stumble
How to lift above the noise
Akin to dismayed grumble
How to sing fearless and true
when it’s preferred that I should mumble.

The comparison to others must be the first to go
And being insecure about things that I don’t know
And then the reservations which impede the flow
Eschewing the distractions might also help me grow

Stories rich and varied
Encompass dark and light
Fairy, folk, mythos, and lore
to soothe or cause a fright
Transported to a time and place
Even without sight
Because every story can be true
If the teller tells it right.
