Some people need love, some people need shoes,  I need music. It keeps me sane and happy, while remaining the one constant in my life. More so than any other external source of joy.  As a result I have tried to make it a consistent part of my world, through work and play alike. But in my mind, music has always remained a hobby, I’ve never considered myself a musician, only a casual player who takes great pleasure in the act of playing.

Lately, I’ve been feeling like it’s time to move to the next level. So I have applied to Selkirk’s music program. It’s a huge leap forward for me. Not just the whole going back to school thing, but the whole going back to school for something I feel passionate about. Something I actually want to do, rather than something I feel like I should do.
There’s no guarantee I’ll get in, I still have to pass the audition, but life is short and passion is key so I must try. As a result, I need a piano. I’ve been saving money both in a jar at my house and a donation jar at the Ymir store to help get one.  I still have a long way to go. So I thought if I’d try expanding the reach of my donation jar.
Because it never hurts to ask. If you want to help me buy a piano, awesome. I’ll totally invite you over for tea and play you a song about joy.
