“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”  -Nat King Cole

I’m glad you made time for it, this letting yourself be loved thing.
I’m glad that you decided what you’d thought would be how things went didn’t have to be how things went when something different showed up.

I’m glad that you stayed open and aware enough of the possibility that what you needed didn’t necessarily look exactly as you thought it should, and adapted accordingly.

This is starting to feel like Bilbo Baggins’ near incomprehensible speech, which simultaneously makes perfect sense.

This is a meandering missive,
a late night love letter
a thank you note
noting that I’m grateful to have learned
how to let myself be loved
without consideration
that it’s for any reason beyond
the obvious.
